Minecraft Username Lookup

Paste a Minecraft username or UUID and instantly see the public profile: skin, cape, name history, UUID, and account age.

Every Minecraft account has a stable UUID and a current username. Usernames are reusable after 37 days, but UUIDs never change. Pasting either into mc.dog resolves through the public Mojang and Ashcon APIs and renders a clean, shareable profile page backed by the same identity graph powering discord.dog and github.dog.

The lookup pulls the current name and the encoded textures property from Mojang's sessionserver, then enriches with name history, account creation date, and pre-decoded skin and cape URLs from Ashcon. Skin renders come from Crafatar so the lens never has to proxy or process texture pixels itself.

Both shapes work: paste a username (`Notch`) or a UUID with or without hyphens (`069a79f4-44e9-4726-a5be-fca90e38aaf5` or `069a79f444e94726a5befca90e38aaf5`). The canonical URL is always the username for readability; the UUID alias resolves to the same profile.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find someone's Minecraft UUID?

Easiest path is to look up their username here and the UUID shows on their profile. Alternative: hit `https://api.mojang.com/users/profiles/minecraft/<username>` directly. Servers also expose UUIDs in their player lists.

Can I look someone up by their old name?

Only if they still own that name. Usernames freed up after 37 days can be claimed by anyone, so the old name might resolve to a different account now. Use the UUID if you need to track the original player across renames.

What does a Minecraft profile lookup show?

Current username, UUID (formatted), 3D skin render, cape if any, slim/classic skin model, name history with timestamps, and account creation date when Mojang exposes it (very old accounts may not).

Does this require a Minecraft account?

No. mc.dog only reads public Mojang and Ashcon data. You don't need to be logged in to anything.
